A Letter to Senators- Iliamna-Matsu Hwy

Greetings incumbent Senators of Alaska, Congratulations on bipartisan passage of 1 trillion dollar infrastructure bill in US Senate, Sir and Ma’am- If the bill passes in the House, I have a suggestion for you. Thank you for informing us in your websites that 3.5 billion dollars of the infrastructure money will come to Alaska for highway construction and repair. I’ve learned that it takes about 2 million dollars to build a mile of two-lane asphalt road. I propose to you that we build a 2-lane highway between Iliamna Lake and Matsu Valley, which will be about 250 miles long, costing about 500 million dollars. As you know, Iliamna Lake is the largest lake in Alaska and third largest lake in America. Iliamna lake also houses the rare fresh water seals. Close to Iliamna Lake, there are Katmai National Park, Kodiak Island, and Augustine Island that has an active volcano. Also, great salmon fishing place of Bristol Bay and Aleutian Island Chain are near there too. Aleutian Chain has great potential for tourism, trans-Pacific trade route, and shipping industry for trade cargo ships to goods between Asia/Russia and Alaska/Canada/America. I understand you are against Pebble Mine development for now, and I just to mention that I’m pro-Pebble. Also, I’m running for 2022 US Senate as an Independent Alaskan, so I will be competing with one of you next year //!-) Thank you for all you do and God bless you and your family and your colleauges, Sir and Ma’am- --Huhnkie Lee, a citizen of Wasilla, Alaska
